Introducing you to Hecate - Goddess of Magic and Crossroads
Yesterday as I was meditating, I had the intention of figuring out one of my Greek spirit guides. In the midst of listening to the guided meditation, somehow the name "Hecate" came to me. I then went off and did my own thing but over night and upon waking this morning again the name "Hecate" was in my head so I decided to do a bit of research on her.
Hecate is essentially a Greek goddess, more famously known as being the goddess of magic or witchcraft, but she's also know as the goddess of the crossroads (she is commonly depicted by having two torches that light the way of the path), goddess of the night, goddess of the moon (the night moon to be exact) and protector of new births (e.g. children, ideas, new beginnings, etc). She's also usually accompanied by an owl or a dog.
Now that kind of resonates with me... I have always been interested in the moon (moon goddess in particular), the lovely lady who drew my spirit guides drew me a beautiful goddess in the light of the moon and an owl, the owl is my spirit animal and I love dogs :P As you know, I have consistently been told that this is the year for new beginnings, new changes, etc.
So I decided to do an automatic writing session and call upon Hecate. She came along (I know when she was there because my pen started to move and I asked for a sign) and I wrote down almost 2 pages full of questions for her. Firstly, Hecate is one of my spirit guides - she confirmed that today and also told me I could call upon her at any time for help which was quite comforting. Secondly, Hecate told me that Hippocrates (often the man considered the father of medicine) was also my spirit guide (hooray! I have to admit I did ask him to be months ago...). Today the card that came out in my Angel Therapy reading was Mediumship. I actually get this card at least once a month so I decided to ask Hecate (given that she is the goddess of mediumship), whether my deceased grandmother on my mother's side was trying to contact me. Again Hecate confirmed yes she was, and passed on the message that Grandma is ok and she's looking after my entire family. She also said that I would be able to contact my Grandma through dreams or the use of crystals (and not meditation).
Now came the interesting part - I asked Hecate what the "explore your options" card meant for me (I received that card today and 2 days ago). She said it was exploring my options in relation to study, the property that I'm looking to invest in, my career, the various healing modalities that I wanted to specialise in and friendships. Funnily enough, I was told I was not to explore my options in relation to love or my life purpose.
Her other message for me was in relation to magic - which is really about the power of manifesting my desires. She confirmed (as all the cards have said) that I (and I assume we all do) have the power to manifest whatever we want.
Apparently I'm going to get opportunities to change my career this year (instead of next year as I was planning) and that I was going to leave my current job this year. I'll repeat again that I'm really excited to see what this year has in store for me!
