It pays to being open to receive
I would like this blog post to reiterate to you all the importance of being open to receive from the Universe, especially if you have asked the Universe for help. For me, the past week, I believe that this has been the main theme for me, especially as my reading from Angel Souls a few months back had advised me "to be open to suggestion" and to not be fixated on how I was going to achieve a certain outcome.
Many of you know that I am a few weeks away from saying good bye to my law career and fully embracing my massage/healing career. For the months leading up to this stage, I was excited about what post-June would hold for me, but as I was coming into May, I was getting a lot more apprehensive about what I would be doing post-June as I hadn't really been proactively chasing any opportunities (and nothing really fell into my lap).
You may recall a few months back I had applied for a massage job at a particular clinic that I could see would really lead me to achieve my goal of working with a particular sports team. I had a great interview with the owner of the clinic, and now work casually in massaging some professional rugby players, but it kind of went quiet in terms of the opportunity to actually work at that clinic. Further, a few weeks ago I gone for an interview at a physiotherapy clinic and had been unsuccessful - not because they didn't like me, but because they could see my true passion lay in the metaphysics and not necessarily pure massage. So for the past few weeks, I was a bit down.
I also had had this idea in my head to contact my chiropractor who I hadn't seen for a few years to see if there was an opportunity to work in his clinic. I had seen that he had a massage therapist working for him at another clinic at his, but I wanted to inquire about a different location. I sat on this idea of contacting him for a very long time until I felt this urge (most likely through someone posting a sort of instagram pic or whatever which was along the lines of "What are you waiting for? You have nothing to fear!") to contact him so I did. I met with him this week and I'm a bit excited about the opportunity.
Further, I had a brief interview at another clinic in the Inner West about working there and the lady seemed keen to progress further in negotiations. And on top of that, this week I felt the urge once again to message the lady of the first massage clinic to check in to see how she was and whether there was any opportunity for me since we had met a few months back. In both cases, they asked me to come in for a 1/2 hr massage trial and this is what I will be doing at both places over the next few days. Who knows how it'll turn out but it seemed like the time was right now to progress talks around what I would do post-June and it makes sense - 4 weeks is a good time to start to plan.
Given the changes that I'll be experiencing soon, I decided that it was time for me to buy another massage table. Essentially what I wanted was a light weight table that was big and strong enough for me to massage the rugby players. My current table is heavy to lug around and I really wanted something that was better for me physically. Ideally I wanted the table to me less than $350. Initially I had my heart set on a particular brand because I knew it was nice and lightweight but when I looked at it, it was $300 without the face hole (add $20) or the carry case (add another $80). Surely I could find something a bit better right! So what did I do? I asked the Universe for it. Specifically, I asked my higher self to give me an indication of where I could find a good table for me.. the answer I got back was "Look on ebay". So I checked out eBay initially searching on the particular brand but again nothing suited my needs. Then I decided to change my search terms and then found a massage table that was half price but seemed to match my specifications and the weight. I thought it was too good to be true so I asked my higher self for some more guidance and the answer I got back was "This is yours. Get it"... so I did. Guess how much it was? $200 including the case and postage. AWESOME!
On top of that, I had been having a chat with our new financial controller about my business and structuring it so that it was financially beneficial for me. He told me that it was important to put the effort in at the beginning to set things up right, as opposed to doing it wrong and paying for it later. He started talking about a couple of finance-y concepts which made my head hurt, and I put it out there to the Universe - "Please provide me with a financial adviser who can help me set up my business appropriately for my highest good".
The next day, I was scheduled to meet the owner of the company who managed my investment property. The purpose of the meeting was to ask him a couple of questions I had about the structure of my investment. I also updated him around my personal circumstances and my business and he asked me if I had a financial adviser. I said no so told me he would get his financial adviser to set up my business for me. He then proceeded to tell me how he structured his business and knew that I wanted to get this structure set up by the end of this month. Needless to say he told me he'd phoned up his financial adviser and ask him to help me out and I have a call with him tomorrow! Thank you Universe!
The other important thing about how the whole finding the financial adviser turned out was that when the solution was suggested to me, it felt "right". It felt good. I basically did not have a gut feeling that I needed to be cautious... so again I need to trust in this and let it play out.
So over the past week I've experienced that the Universe can answer your question pretty much quickly if you only ask for the help and are open to receiving the guidance (and acting on it). Further, I'm feeling a lot more comfortable about my circumstances post-June given how quickly things moved this week and the Universe has given me more assurance that I am on the right track as I do have 2 clients booked in this week! Whoopee!
Ask and you shall receive (whether it's receiving the exact thing you wanted or you may get something even better) - always - just listen and be open to it.
