Byron Bay - the place where anything that can happen, does

This weekend I was fortunate enough to spend it in Byron Bay. I had never been there before and had no idea what to expect, but I have to say that it exceeded all of my expectations.

Once of the first things I learnt being there was to really let go. As my lovely friend who lived up there told me when I was on the main beach after I had landed, "Live in the moment as things will just happen as they are supposed to". So as me and my friend were trying to figure out whether we would hire a car on Saturday, we both decided "meh, let's see what happens" and went with the flow. I think we both found the entire experience quite enjoyable!

Before I went to Byron, I made the decision that I was going to have a great time there. On the day I flew up (Friday), I did a card reading for myself and the result was "new partner". From that I thought that I would meet someone in Byron who potentially could be quite an important person in my life in the future - not in a romantic sense - I felt it was more like for my life purpose.

Anyway, fast forward a few hours and here my friend and I are, sitting at a bar in Byron Bay having a chat over a drink. An older man sits down next to my friend and somehow we get to chatting... then the topic turns to my career change and things get quite interesting. The guy became really interested in how I came to be where I am, was interested in the energetic healing abilities that I had and he started giving me advice on who to see/chat to, etc. It turns out that he's also had quite an interesting life and now essentially goes around being a life coach. The other interesting thing was that he pointed out that his bracelet was the exact same pattern as my hand bag. When that happened, I remembered my angel card from earlier today and really began to pay attention to what he was saying. I asked him for his number and he said he was only giving me advice on what he would do in my position but I said I felt that synchronicity was at work and I needed to at least give his advice a go and see where that went.

Suffice to say I have contacted him again to ask for a bit more details about the people he told me to meet and what I should say if I get a chance to meet them. I'll keep you posted if I get a response.

So moving on from that, straight after leaving the bar we caught up with one of my former workmates who I hadn't seen for YEARS. He was the same as I had known him years ago, and I met his lovely husband and their friends. We had a great time chatting, drinking, dancing and somehow managed to get home (suffice to say though that my head was a bit cloudy the next day)!

On Saturday, we ended up hiring a car and driving to Crystal Castle. I'm really glad we hadn't planned certain things that day, because I think we could have easily spent a long time at Crystal Castle! Crystal Castle blew me away. If you go to Byron Bay, you must hire a car and get out there. It's paradise - when you get there you can't even believe you're in Australia. Actually, let me rephrase that, I couldn't believe there was any place on earth as gorgeous as Crystal Castle. There is such a calming and surreal energy in the place, and there was this Tibetan structure that, as I was walking around it three times, seemingly cleared up my throat chakra to the point I felt like there was a huge hole there and fresh air was constantly flowing through it!

Throughout the place there are a number of huge crystals - rose quartz, amethyst, sodalite, clear quartz, etc. No doubt they contributed to the zen feeling of the place but wow it was gorgeous. There is also a rainforest walk that, as you go through, you inhale a number of different scents from the trees, listen to the wildlife and really appreciate the beauty of nature. There were so many flowers there that I had not seen before - it was just so stunningly and breathtakingly beautiful. It really does bring you back to nature.

The place also has a few educational sessions through the day so we made it to the crystal experience. There you were taken through how to choose crystals and how to use them. My friend found it freaky when she was using the quartz crystal over her hand that it seemed to be magnetically attracted to certain areas of her body. I think that the quartz was attracted to the energy imbalances and therefore wanted to get to the place in order to clear them. She was already freaked out when she was feeling the magnetic pull (as she said she doesn't really feel the crystal's vibrations), and when I did it to her that just freaked her out even more haha! Suffice to say now however that she has a number of crystals in her stash!

After spending time at Crystal Castle, we headed out to the Byron Bay lighthouse. Now let me tell you that the forecast this weekend was storms. We managed to get out there and the sun was out shining and wow the view was AMAZING! We were blown away from the gorgeous views and were really happy to be there.

On our final day, we went to Bangalow markets. I have to say that those markets are the best markets I've been to in Australia. There is such a huge range of stalls and once again I stocked up on more crystals! We then dropped off the car and caught up with my friends again and had the most amazing lunch. My friends were so lovely, they were so hospitable and made our stay really memorable.

I have to admit that I love Byron Bay - it almost feels like home. There's really a sense of "chill out" and "just go with the flow", far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. I mean, there are NO TRAFFIC LIGHTS!!! Everyone is quite respectful of others and yea there's just no judgement whatsoever. Plus for me personally because of my journey to become an energy healer and my spiritual path, it was so easy for me to chat to people about my direction and for them to really get me. I was telling one of my friends that I smudged my workplace earlier this year because of the bad energy I felt and he told me he did the same thing at his workplace! It really is a place where you can really see the law of attraction at work.

Finally, at the airport, our plane was delayed by 3 hours. Basically the plane's tyre was damaged and the engineers had to come from the Gold Coast (which was 1.5 hrs away) to fix it. Normally if that happened I would be really pissed off (especially as I had planned to catch up with my cousin later that night). But I was actually really calm and my attitude was like "well we can't control it so what can we do". Because of that, I ended up having a pretty good conversation with a random guy sitting at the table (he actually used to live at Bondi but moved to Byron Bay) and a family. As we were boarding the plane, they got on, acknowledged me and moved on. It was a small gesture but to me it just goes to show that things can be fine if you treat the situation with compassion! To top it off, one of our friends agreed to come and pick us up from the airport and dropped me off home which saved me paying the crazy train ticket price!

Now we're back to reality.. sigh. I will definitely go back to Byron Bay again... it's such a wonderful place and I would recommend that you all check it out at least once! You never know who you will meet there - it seems to be the place where miracles can happen :)
