The law of attraction
Every week day I do daily angel card readings to a select few of my friends. A common message in the readings is the law of attraction. Unlike physics and magnetism, the law of attraction is essentially "like attracts like".
Have you ever wondered why, when you worry about something, that something just ends up becoming a reality? Or say, if you end up thinking positively about a situation, even if it's perhaps a pain in the ass, then things seem to be a lot better? That's the law of attraction at work.
Let me give you a couple of examples:
Have you ever wondered why, when you worry about something, that something just ends up becoming a reality? Or say, if you end up thinking positively about a situation, even if it's perhaps a pain in the ass, then things seem to be a lot better? That's the law of attraction at work.
Let me give you a couple of examples:
- A while ago I was really stressed out at work and worrying about things screwing up when I was away on holidays. It was 2 days before I was due to go. At that point, I decided the following "you know what? I'm going away, things will be handled in my absence so I may as well just let go of the worries and let it be". All of a sudden, things happened that made me more confident it could be handled in my absence, I got the approval to engage external counsel and all of a sudden the workload was taken off me!
- I had my first practical assessment in massage the other week. Funnily enough, on the day I wasn't feeling that nervous and I kept thinking that I was meant to do this, everything will be fine, and I ended up passing it wooo!
- At my cousin's opening night for her new permanent food joint, I was conversing with people who were all on the "natural therapy" bandwagon and completely understood where I wanted to go with my career.
I have been receiving a lot of messages lately that I'm meant to be "healing" and "helping" people. I've reached the stage where I kind of just let things go in terms of exactly what I want to do in my career and let whatever come, come. Having that message plus the "there is no such thing as coincidences card", I have been getting random requests and people contacting me out of the blue for advice.
An example of this was today. Actually, it is somewhat ironic that my messages from the angels today were along the lines of nuture myself and reward myself because I have been giving myself to others a lot and not receiving much in return (not that I expect to receive things.. but I've been told my balance of giving and receiving has been out of whack). So, today I bought myself a delicious slice of cake for dessert, found myself in a music store and bought piano music for me to play and booked myself into a floatation therapy session (thanks to advice from one of my friends).
The latter half of the day was spent providing some advice to a friend regarding a situation he found himself in and assuring him everything would be A-ok (positivity breeds positivity remember), and then off I was home. I played the piece that I bought on the piano, cooked myself dinner and then eased myself onto my lounge. All of a sudden I received a message from another mate of mine, asking me whether I had our chiropractor's mobile number because he wanted to book a session in. Out of instinct, I asked him what was up, and he told me he was at the crossroads of his life in terms of career and wasn't sure of what to do with this role that had come up. Taking that role would require him to move to Melbourne, and he was indecisive when I asked him what his gut was saying. After delving a bit further, I found out that he was worried that by moving back home, he would become stagnant and not have the opportunity to challenge himself or grow. We had a pretty long whatsapp session after that but the jist was that I told him that there's no point in worrying that he would go back to his "old" ways because he has grown so much in the last 2 years or so that he's been living in Sydney, and that as long as he held the intent that he would continue to push and challenge himself, he'd be fine. Now I'm just going to sit back and see what path he takes ;)
As I write this post, I'm reminded of a time a few weeks back where I seemed to be attracting friends coming to me for advice on their marital problems. Not one, but two! I remember sitting back thinking "whoa what is going on - all of a sudden people who need help in some way, especially in terms of their marriage"! It looks like that "phase" is over and now I'm attracting people who have "career crossroad" issues! Over the past few weeks, I've probably spoken to 4-5 people about this topic, all at different stages in their lives, but the issue is always the same!
I recall the likes of Doreen Virtue and Lorna Byrne saying that the Divine tends to send certain people to you for a reason, so I'm trying not to turn these people away when they contact me seemingly out of the blue. That's the job of the lightworker - help those who need it. Linkedin requests from random people on the other hand... I'll still decline you :P
