Symbolism in dreams

Over the past week, I've had a couple of pretty vivid dreams and have been fortunate to remember them. I thought I'd share a few of the images and "themes" from those dreams, and give you my interpretation of what it means. Of course, the interpretation makes complete sense to me, because it IS my dream, but I'll also give an example of a dream a friend of mine had earlier this week, and explain the symbolism of that too.

Some other useful background info is that through the angel card readings I have been doing for myself, the themes of the messages are pretty clear - I'm undergoing change (or a big change is around the corner for me) and I'm receiving a lot of abundance.

The below images appeared to me either through my dreams or meditation.

  • Pyramid: In this dream, I just saw one pyramid - and it was brief but obviously it made an impact because I remembered it, not to mention it has appeared at least twice in separate dreams/meditations. My feeling wasn't of exploration or of curiosity or even fear, rather I just accepted the fact that it was there. Given this, I believe that the pyramid means I'm undergoing a big change and I'm learning a lot. In my waking life that makes sense - making the transition (albeit slow one) to a new career and learning a LOT about things, not just on an anatomical level, but on a spiritual level too.
  • Daffodils: I basically saw a bunch of daffodils (the yellow really stood out) and then the dream panned out into a field. Think of a field of lavender if you're driving through the French country side, but substitute the lavender with daffodils and that's essentially what my dream was like. I remember just being in awe of the field and I thought it was incredibly beautiful. Daffodils symbol renewal, new beginnings, inner growth. Again you can see the theme of knowledge and change.
  • Yellow Daisies: Again this was very similar to the daffodils - essentially, the daisies followed the daffodils and there was a big field of yellow daisies. Again the feeling was the same, I thought it was absolutely beautiful and was in awe of it. Daisies apparently indicate prosperity and health! Remember the abundance messages I've been receiving?
  • Golden Dragons: So this is an interesting one. After seeing the fields of flowers, all of a sudden two golden dragons flew up from the field and were kind of flying around each other in a twist (obviously not getting twisted). The golden dragons soared up in the sky, out of Earth, and continued to soar into the universe! Dragons are generally seen as a symbol of wisdom, wealth, power and also your subconscious mind. Golden dragons apparently symbolise prosperity and wealth. Again go back to the messages from the angels who have told me about abundance!
Now, let's talk about death in dreams. One of my friends had a dream in which someone she knew died. Similarly, I had another conversation with another friend who said he had a dream he was being suffocated and died. Death in a dream actually is a good sign - it means you're letting go of the old and going in a new direction! You need to think about what the particular thing associated with death in the dream meant in order to figure out the message. For example, my friend dreamed that her sister died. I asked her what came to her mind when she thought of her sister and she said her sister was blind. For me, that dream meant that my friend was blind to seeing something in her waking life, but now can see this fact and is moving on a different direction. She would agree that that particular interpretation is quite accurate.

For the friend who was being suffocated by a pillow and then dying, the symbolism there is that he felt he was not in control of certain things - that he was always forced to do something based on what another person wanted. In this case, the dream symbolises that he no longer wishes to be controlled by others and wants to hold the power to make his own decisions. I think given his particular situation right now, it makes complete sense.
