The power of music
This week I was guided to sign up to do this "An uncompromised life" online course by Marisa Peer. For those who don't know who Marisa Peer is (and to tell you the truth, I didn't know who she was either until Sunday), she's apparently a pretty renown hypnotherapist who has helped numerous people (from people like us to Hollywood A-listers and royalty) to overcome self limiting beliefs. I was a bit skeptical at first but I took a free masterclass which revealed to me the events in my childhood that led to my fear of being rejected. As I was under a light "hypnosis" (mind you I was very aware of what else was going on around me and could easily have broken out of it but I chose not to), the 3 events came up relatively easy (I actually had forgotten about them until it came up during the session) and when it came up, tears were streaming down my face because I was reliving the moment and the fear and shame I felt at that point in time. I knew then however that something had changed in my brain and that I was in such a better place - this was later confirmed by my Higher Self who told me I needed to buy the course and go through the lessons, and then after I did that the angels were pretty much doing the "Good job this is leading you in the right direction" thing which was very comforting.
Anyway, I digress. As part of lesson 1 today, Marisa makes it abundantly clear that the way you talk to yourself, the words that you use, effectively make your reality. For those who are on the spiritual path or those who have an understanding about how things work, you would know that "our thoughts create our realities" because, let's face it, we're pretty powerful beings. What I didn't realise however was the effect that listening to certain music could have on you. Have you ever listened to a lot of the lyrics to the popular songs now these days? A lot of the times the lyrics are absolute rubbish, or it's full of hate for an ex, or there's lots of anger, etc. Imagine if you're listening to that in a playlist and it constantly repeats in your head.... you might be surprised that somehow the message of the song gets imprinted on your mind and then becomes a reality.
As you know, I follow Doreen Virtue and I watch her weekly videos. This week, she delivered a message from the angels which was pretty much "be careful of the music that you listen to". My dear friend One Grounded Angel also said something similar the week before and as you know, the angels love to play songs on repeat in my head as I wake up in the morning (and if you follow my FB page, you'll know the message from those songs are basically "breaking out" of the norm and not being afraid to challenge others and be yourself). Marisa pretty much said the same thing - whilst she doesn't go to the levels of talking about angels or anything like that, she said if you wanted to really get stuff done or want to change your outlook on a particular negative thought that you have, then ensure that you play the right songs to get you into the right mindset!
Here's some songs that Marisa has recommended:

Here's some songs that Marisa has recommended:
- Alicia Keys - Girl on Fire
- Black Eyed Peas - Lets Get it Started
- La Roux - Bulletproof
- Fireflight - I've Got the Power
I actually created my own playlist of "motivational" music for myself. Here's what I have (in additional to the above tracks):
- Alessia Cara - Wildthings
- Pink - Just Life Fire
- Justin Timberlake - Mirrors (this is to bring my twin flame into the picture hehe)
- Pharrell Williams - Happy
- Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop the Feeling
- David Guetta and Zara Larsson - This One's for You
I'll obviously be adding to this list as and when another song comes into my head or gets suggested to me, but feel free to let me know what songs motivate you... and let's try an experiment, listen to those songs every day for a week and pay attention to what happens! I can't wait!
