Welcome to 2017 - the year of creative beginnings

Happy new year everyone! I hope that you all enjoyed a lovely Christmas and did something nice to welcome in the new year as well.

2017 is a number 1 year (2 + 0 + 1 + 7 = 10; 1+ 0 = 1). Number 1 is the number for new beginnings! Basically this year is your year to get off your butt and do something you've always wanted to do - take leadership of your own life. Start taking the steps to achieve your dreams. Be confident in your self and go and get what you have always wanted! That's pretty exciting is it not?

I'm really excited for this year to start for a number of reasons - 2017 will be the year that I move fully into my new career and say goodbye to the lawyer who has served me well for the past 10 years or so. It is the year when I ramp up that side of the business and take further steps towards achieving my dream. The messages I've been receiving from the angels and the Universe has basically been along the lines of "You can do this", "Everything is set up for you to achieve your dreams, just take those guided steps" and "You've got nothing to worry about - we have your back". That's pretty comforting!

Another constant message from the Universe I have been receiving is about creation or creativity. In spiritual truth, we are all powerful and creative beings as our thoughts create our reality. Given the number 1 year, it is so important now to put your "creative efforts" into bringing that desire of yours to fruition.

Now, some of you might be thinking "I do not have a creative bone in my body" because your idea of a creative person might be a painter, a designer, a musician, a carpenter, an architect, etc. But let's look at the actual meaning of the word create - it means to produce, to come up with something. If you cook something, you are creating. If you write down notes, you are creating! If you set a goal to achieve something, you're actually creating your reality - so at the end of the day, we are ALL creative beings (whether you like that or not :P).

I have to confess that I fell into that former category of "creative" definers. I play music but I didn't think I was the creative because I wasn't a hipster, wore really funky clothes and glasses and frequented Newtown :P But, now I'm a bit more comfortable with that notion. Why? I basically came up with the idea for the logo of my business (after asking for guidance from my angels and spirit guides). I have also spent the majority of today designing a brochure for my business for a new service offering that I intend to launch this year.

I'm the first person to admit that the task of sitting down and creating something is somewhat daunting and a pain in the ass (quite similar to the feeling when I know I need to clean my apartment but can't get off my ass to do so). However, once you get into the groove, the feeling is great! When you can see your idea come to fruition and see the end product, you feel really chuffed with yourself and so you should!

I'd encourage you to sit down and think about what you want to achieve and what you want to do with your life and then write it down, put it in some sort of vision board, mind map, diary, etc. Again it might be a bit tough for you to get started but once you do, you'll see that things will just flow. Do yourself a favour this year and get creative because you can! Good luck :)
