Using moon cycles to your advantage
Most of you who read this blog understand in some way or another how nature can affect your life. Usually when you're feeling like crap and go to the beach and listen to the waves, or you go for a nice bush walk, or decide to garden (or in my case - buy potting mix and re-pot some plants), touching a cat or a dog - you feel good. I've found recently that after dipping in the ocean for a bit my body starts buzzing and it's a good type of buzzing. Similarly now I can feel the vibrations in the sand as I am sitting on it and it feels great to connect.
The ancient ones used to place a lot of emphasis on star positioning and sun position in determining where to build certain monuments. Similarly, the moon has been a sign that has been worshipped in ancient times. I'm sure a lot of you realise that if your menstruation cycle is closely aligned with the moon cycles, you have little issues with your menstruation and fertility rates than other women!
One of the messages that came from Hecate during my channelling session a few weeks ago was to "use the moon cycles". In particular, it was identified that I had certain blockages around my womb area (not bad enough to affect my fertility but she thought it was prudent to tell me to fix those damn blockages that I have been avoiding for a long time). Now this is a bit off topic but if you have emotional blockages around the sacral chakra or pelvis/womb area, one of the ways to release them is to have sex! Yep - sex. But that's another topic - let me get back onto the main point of this post.
Essentially there are two main cycles of the moon that we should look at - the full moon and the new moon. The new moon (basically when it is completely blacked out to us), is known as a great time to manifest. The full moon is the opposite - it's time to release and let go of things! Generally under the full moon what I do is just place all my crystals out under the moonlight for them to be cleansed and recharged. After Hecate's message however, I might actually write down a list of things that I release or that no longer serve me and thrown it in the bin or just burn it as well to signal to the Universe that I'm ready for it to get out of my life.
So let's talk about a new moon ritual. As I wrote above, it's a good time to manifest and I never even thought about doing it before (thanks Hecate)! So what do you do?

- Set up your space where you will write down your desires - if you want, light a candle, put some crystals there, make sure you have a pen and paper or pencil and notepad - basically whatever it is you're going to write your desires down on!
- Cleanse the space - I used my sage stick and smudged the area (and given that I live in an apartment, decided I may as well smudge my apartment whilst I'm at it). I also had some nice music going on in the background to get me into the mood.
- Before writing down my desires, I basically asked the Universe and my Higher Self to assist me in identifying what it is I wanted and needed - whatever was for my better good and for the good of others. Then I sat down and wrote down everything I wanted... some things were small, some things were big, but whatever came into my mind, I wrote it down. I ended up writing 10 pages or so hahaha!
- When you're done, thank the Universe and then give your desires to the Universe and stand back and let it do it's job. I basically closed my notepad and placed one of my crystals on top of it and left it on my side table.
I did that a few days ago and suffice to say one of the things that I asked for (wait.. probably 2 of them) has eventuated (thanks Universe)! I can't remember all the details of the other things I asked for but to be that's fine - it's probably easier that way as I won't get in the way of the Universe doing its magic!
Try it next time! The Full Moon will be on Feb 11 (for us in Australia) so it's time to release. I've signed up for this free womb blessing on Feb 11 and will use that opportunity to further release blockages that I have around that area.
