The "middle age" crisis

One of the messages I received today from a friend of mine was to continue to write. At that time, I was perplexed about what topic to write because I literally had writer's block, but some events during the day have happened which have led me to sit down after a long day out with a berocca in hand and write this post today. The theme of the post today is "out with the old and in with the new" - and for me it resonates on a lot of levels. I'm at the stage where I start seriously considering those who are my "friends" and the qualities they have, and make the conscious decision to withdraw from them because they no longer are in line with my evolving values. It's not to say that they're not great people, I feel that the friendship we had has run its course and it needs to be let go of in order to move forward. As you know, I am also at the stage where I'm happy to move away from my current legal career to make way for a new path of being a hea...

Synchronicity

I've said it before and I'll say it again - there is no such thing as a coincidence and today just proves it (yet again). Today also proved that like attracts like. I attended the Mind Body Spirit festival last weekend with some of my mates. Through that, one of my friends decided to do this "wheel of fortune" thing at the adjoining Home Show. She landed on $100, and because she didn't own the place she currently had, she told the chick at the stand to talk to me. Essentially, this company used the Wheel of Fortune thing to get you talking about your mortgage and ways to reduce it. We arranged that I'd have a consultant chat to me about potential ways to reduce my mortgage today. So I stay at home today waiting for the guy that was supposed to meet me to come. It turns out that he couldn't make it, so sent another guy instead. This guy seemed really nice, and was saying how his daughter also plays bass guitar (he spied my bass guitar). So we got down t...

Meditation

Image
I thought I had a bit of a clue about meditation but it turns out after doing some reading on it, I still have a lot of things to learn. I had always thought seeing colours during meditation meant that I was in tune with either a chakra level or a particular plane of light or even the Archangels! I also saw a lot of shadows and faces - I can still see it when I meditate now. I can't recognise some of the faces, whereas with other faces I swear they are the faces of the Ascended Masters. What I have learnt today however is that whilst you might experience seeing of different colours and stuff whilst you meditate, you need to literally ignore it. It apparently slows down your path to spirituality and to visiting a different realm. I thought meditation was always an exercise to help you become a lot more present and to help you deal with the stresses from day to day life. Until recently, I didn't know that it was one of the most effective methods for you to try to tap into ...

Massage update

Image
Ok so it's been a while since I've actually posted something on how I am coming along on the massage front. The last couple of posts were mainly on the spiritual journey but I thought I'd focus on the massage or "body work" front. It's essentially coming along well - can you believe this week is Week 8 out of my first trimester?! There's only 4 weeks left to go and then that's my halfway mark as I'm studying part-time. I'm so incredibly impatient with this because I just want to jump straight out of the law and into the massage but obviously I need the qualification before I can do anything. So over the past few weeks, I've been practicing my massage and been increasingly confident with most of my techniques. At the student clinic, I was allocated 2 paying clients so I essentially had to do these 2 one after the other. My first client gave me some good feedback that I seemed less confident around the neck area but was really good wi...

The importance of crystals

Image
Over the past couple months, I've been getting a bit more interested in crystals and how they can be used to help you in everyday life. Whilst using the Angel Therapy cards, one of the cards that popped out a lot months ago was crystals. I was to use crystals to help me with whatever I needed. I had no idea what crystal I was going to get, but the rule of thumb is go for the crystal you are most drawn to when you are in a crystal store. The stores will always have a description with each crystal about its properties and what it will help you with. I went to the Mind Body Spirit festival today with some mates and stocked up on some more crystals. I also introduced one of my friends to crystals for the first time so thought it would be a good idea to give a bit of a summary of some the crystals that I have and the properties that they have for your information. Rose Quartz Better known as the love stone, this stone is all about the heart.  It helps open yourself up to lov...

Symbolism in dreams

Image
Over the past week, I've had a couple of pretty vivid dreams and have been fortunate to remember them. I thought I'd share a few of the images and "themes" from those dreams, and give you my interpretation of what it means. Of course, the interpretation makes complete sense to me, because it IS my dream, but I'll also give an example of a dream a friend of mine had earlier this week, and explain the symbolism of that too. Some other useful background info is that through the angel card readings I have been doing for myself, the themes of the messages are pretty clear - I'm undergoing change (or a big change is around the corner for me) and I'm receiving a lot of abundance. The below images appeared to me either through my dreams or meditation. Pyramid : In this dream, I just saw one pyramid - and it was brief but obviously it made an impact because I remembered it, not to mention it has appeared at least twice in separate dreams/meditations. My ...

The concept of past lives

Starting this spiritual journey has indeed made me challenge a lot of traditional thinking - most of which stems from the fact that I am a Catholic. Unlike Buddhists, Catholics believe that there is no such thing as a past life, and that you cannot be reincarnated. So I've spent the first 32 years of my life believing that such a concept did not exist. However, a couple of things now make me believe that the concept does in fact exist. I was curious about past lives because sometimes the card popped up when I was using the Angel Therapy cards deck. The reason I initially undertook a crystal healing session was to figure out any issues with my past lives but there were other things that popped up instead. Since then, I've been trying to explore this concept a lot more, and this led me to purchase Doreen Virtue and Brian Weiss' Past Life Oracle Cards. After ordering them 3 weeks ago, they finally arrived today! Yay! So, as I usually do, I open up the box in excitement ...

The law of attraction

Every week day I do daily angel card readings to a select few of my friends. A common message in the readings is the law of attraction. Unlike physics and magnetism, the law of attraction is essentially "like attracts like". Have you ever wondered why, when you worry about something, that something just ends up becoming a reality? Or say, if you end up thinking positively about a situation, even if it's perhaps a pain in the ass, then things seem to be a lot better? That's the law of attraction at work. Let me give you a couple of examples: A while ago I was really stressed out at work and worrying about things screwing up when I was away on holidays. It was 2 days before I was due to go. At that point, I decided the following "you know what? I'm going away, things will be handled in my absence so I may as well just let go of the worries and let it be". All of a sudden, things happened that made me more confident it could be handled in my absence, ...

What's in a dream?

Image
I have always placed a strong emphasis on messaging in dreams. Having a dream is one of the best ways to receive messages from beyond our Earth. I'm like you in that, most of the times, I will instantly forget what dream I had, but there are some snippets that are remembered, and I strongly encourage you to note those snippets down somewhere because the meaning of the dream will be revealed later to you, when you have time to reflect and digest it. For example, earlier this week, all I could remember was that I had a dream where I was in a particular place, and I was taking a photo from the rooftop over a city. Then I remembered someone else taking a picture of the same view that I had and it looked way better than my picture. What did it mean? I hastily tried to look up an interpretation of photos or pictures in dreams but none of the meanings seemed to resonate with me. Apparently if someone else is taking a photo then it has something to do with seeing things from a differ...

The abundance continues

Food for thought I'd like to start this post by repeating something that someone I spoke to recently said to me in passing: The people who annoy you are reflections of yourself. So next time someone annoys you, step back and examine why you are annoyed, and you may be surprised to see that you exhibit the same traits. Not that it has anything to do with the subject of this post - but I thought it was quite a big revelation. Yesterday two of my workmates really pissed me off. Then the above came into my head and I realised their traits of being a perfectionist and wanting to be in control was a direct reflection of me. Whoops - time to change that! Abundance ANYWAY, we're talking about abundance! As you know, the other day, I somehow tapped into the different tidal waves of the body. That was an incredible experience and I walked away from it so excited and happy. As part of my massage therapy course, I need to find willing subjects for me to practice. Yesterday, ano...

Slight detour - a very interesting development!

Sorry for a bit of a detour on the blog posts - I know I said I would write something on ascended masters but something happened today to me which is probably worth blogging about! One of the messages I've been receiving from my angels recently was that the door to abundance was open and to get ready for a lot of things, i.e. abundance, to come my way. Deep down I knew this abundance was not a financial gain, I knew it was something else but I was interested to see what that would be. Today, I found out. I was fortunate enough for a friend of mine to allow me to observe the treatment done to her by my remedial massage therapist, now my mentor. Let's call him Massage Mentor or MM because I have a feeling I will be referring to him often in future posts. A while ago, I became quite interested in cranial sacral therapy. My understanding of this was that is was based on this spinal fluid, and that each body had a set of three rhythms or three different tides. When I was a cli...
