The underlying cause of a lot of our issues
Over the past 24 hours, there has been a particular theme that has popped up at least 3 times (for 3 different people). As most of us know, if the angels and our lovely spirit guides want us to pay attention to certain messages, they tend to do it in 3s.
The message is this - the underlying cause of a lot of our issues is the fact that we do not accept ourselves for who we are - i.e. we do not love ourselves.
That kind of makes sense if we think about it... generally when things annoys us, when people annoy us, these things/people are reflections of us - reflections of the shadow aspect of ourselves that wants to make an appearance.
I think you'll agree with us that we are our own worst critic. We constantly make mistakes, but instead of just accepting it for what it is, a mistake, and learning from it, we berate ourselves by thinking Jeeze I can't believe I made this mistake! or I should have picked this up or I should have known that this was going to happen etc. Yup - been there, done that. Why is it that we put so much pressure on ourselves when other people don't have that expectation of us? Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and thought Man I could lose some weight or I don't like the look of my arms or Putting on some make-up will cover up these freckles that are so annoying, etc. This is all about self acceptance, is it not?
What are the types of issues that can arise when we don't accept ourselves? We might try to bully or exert power or our authority over other people because deep down we feel that we have little power over our own lives or we do not accept the fact that we actually do not know everything, we might develop health issues like anorexia or bulimia or have an addiction to things like plastic surgery, we nit-pick and complain about other people's perceived failings because it's easier to do that than to admit to ourselves that we have our own issues etc. I'm sure you can add to this list and most probably can identify some people who act in that way too (it might actually be yourself)!
The fact that we cannot accept ourselves for who we are really stops us from living a really fulfilled life and it stops us from being who we really are. How can we expect other people to treat us in the way we deserve if we do not love ourselves first? I'm sure a lot of you would understand that we need to love and accept ourselves for who we are before other people can - whether it's your family, friends, love partner, work colleagues, etc. Remember that law of attraction, you get what you put out!
So next time you find yourself being stressed out or at the receiving end of a person's crap behaviour, try to take some time out to check in with yourself to see what aspect of yourself are you not accepting? Remember - you are all perfect for who you are. You might think that you have these imperfections here and there, but this is how the Universe works people - you are perfect in any point in time based on the experiences that you have.
