It's impossible! .... and then it wasn't
I did something a few days ago that I had thought was impossible - and to me it shows that it really is about your mindset and your thoughts/words and intentions. Let me rewind a bit and take you through what happened.
Over the past few days I have suddenly had a big urge to do something to help someone else. Ok ok isn't that why you're transitioning from law to be a healer? some of you might ask - yes, but what I really mean was that I wanted to donate some money to a good cause and I was simply stuck at what to donate it to (until I asked the Universe). A month or so back a very dear friend of mine had shared the story of this wonderful social enterprise that is based in Melbourne named Thankyou. You might know them as being the guys behind Thankyou Water. What do they do? Essentially they exist purely for one goal - to eradicate global poverty. 100% of the profit from the products that they sell go towards eradicating global poverty.
Anyway, one of the co-founders recently published a book called Chapter One. It's recounts the story of the beginning of Thankyou and all of the failures, challenges and the wins that have got them to where they are now. It is truly an inspiring book, and the further I got into reading this book, the more I was getting excited about being part of something really really special. One thing that really stood out was the co-founder's attitude to the statement - It's impossible! His response to that statement is a simple - But what if it isn't?
One of the reasons why Thankyou has achieved the success they have (through all the tough times mind you), is because they keep challenging the status quo. From a spiritual perspective, that is also what we are individuals are encouraged to do. Don't just take what other people say to you as the truth, it's up to you to figure out your own truth. In doing that, you will realise exactly how much power you have to create whatever you want. Yes, I'm saying anything is possible and that we're all magicians!
On Saturday, as I was walking to the movies with my boyfriend (yes you heard, my boyfriend), I received a phone call from my mum. She was in pain yet again (damn sciatica) and wanted me to fix it. My initial reaction was exasperation as mum seems to phone me at the most inconvenient times and she also expected that I was able to fix her physical issues without touching her! I basically told her that and finished the conversation by telling her I'd tune into her energy after the movies but I don't think I could release her piriformis (a muscle located around your buttocks that most often than not impinges on the sciatic nerve causing pain) as I wasn't there in front of her and couldn't touch it to release it!
As I recounted this to my boyfriend, all of a sudden I remembered the words I had read - It's impossible... but what if it isn't?! Almost instantly after I said that a thought popped into my head which was basically along the lines of "But what if I took her energy onto my body, and then got my boyfriend to do the release on me in that state?". This could potentially work! I bounced the idea with him and he seemed very open to it. Ok - let me digress slightly here because meeting the boyfriend and who he is is a subject for another post, but let's say he is quite spiritual and open to things plus he has a Diploma in Remedial Massage amongst other things so I knew he could release my piriformis :P
So that evening I was sitting and home and tuning into my mother's energy. I was doing my usual energy healing and then asked for my mother's energy to transfer her physical ailment to my body but not to the point that I personally would absorb it (I learnt that lesson the hard way). After that, I turned to my boyfriend (who was watching me intently mind you) and got him to release my piriformis. Turned out my left one was a lot more tighter than the right (which was the one which was causing my mum pain) but he released it. I sent back the energy to my mum and had the intent that none of the healing would occur until 9pm that night. At 9.30pm I received a call from my mum telling me that the pain had reduced.. it was a 7/10 before when she initially phoned me, and now it was a 2/10. Score!
What happened there really hit home to me on this point - Everything is possible if you want it to be possible. People say things are impossible because they have either been told that it is impossible or don't have the attitude to challenge whether it is impossible or not. That's why now I try to question everything... that is what made Albert Einstein who he is. That is what makes the greatest minds and the successful entrepreneurs. Challenge things people, and you will discover that you are your own superhero!
P.S I can't really finish this post without really giving the Chapter One book a good plug. It's absolutely fantastic. Raw but you can feel the energy and the enthusiasm of the co-founder of Thankyou and his gratitude for what he has experienced so far in his life. His company is incredibly successful and will continue to be and if you would like to read the book, you can purchase it here. The good thing is is that you pay whatever you want for it. Yep - it can be free if you want it to be. But remember that 100% of the profit from the book goes towards funding the next step for this wonderful company. By purchasing the book I have become one of those people who want to support their vision and support them. Will you?
