Congratulate yourself for how far you have come

I thought I'd take the opportunity today to use this post to congratulate everyone on how far they have come so far. Obviously by the law of attraction, I have been very fortunate to know a lot of people who have taken big steps towards what they want to really do with their lives. Whether it's to completely focus their efforts on pro-bono work, to taking steps to building a creative and arty business, to becoming a personal trainer, or like me, to become a massage therapist and energy healer - all of this meant that we all had to take positive steps towards our real desires. In relation to those particular people, I have noticed such a big shift in their attitude and how they now perceive obstacles, stress and difficulties - the shift has been incredibly positive and beautiful! I think it's true to say that once you view the world a bit differently and figure out what you want to do and where you want to be, making decisions about what you need to focus on becomes very v...

Seeing the positives from the negatives - it's a question of perspective

Today was my second last time at the student massage clinic. Next week will be my last for the trimester, and then a welcomed "break" <-- Not really a break, I'm going to a 2 day course in Melbourne in the 2nd weekend of December to further my skills in other areas and intend to use the next 3 months to read up on Anatomy Trains and Esoteric Anatomy - books that MM gave me months ago and I've barely touched the surface on. Anyway, I had two clients back to back this morning. At the end of each massage session, we seek feedback from the client. My first one wasn't the most complimentary, the second one was fine. When my supervisor told me that I had unfavorable feedback from a client, I had that shiver down my spine that I had referred to before. Essentially during the massage she kept asking me to apply more oil and then in her feedback she said that I could have gone faster on some areas of the body (fair point as I ended up missing her arms and neck). The t...

Removing the emotion from things

I admit it - today was a crap and challenging day. Anything that could go wrong, essentially did, and for me now looking back (and after a very good yoga session), I can now see it as a "challenge" to test how far I had come in terms of dealing with certain situations. I'll focus on the one example which really hit home how important it was to separate the emotion from the facts. Nearly two years ago, and all times before then, I was a very emotional person at work. If work was getting too tough for me or I was too stressed out, I'd break down and cry. I was always told I was very emotional and I had to take the emotion out of things and see it objectively. Obviously when you're not in the middle of all of the stuff happening to you, it's really easy to see that! When you are in the middle of it, it's a lot harder. I'm sure you're all nodding in agreement. So today I was in the middle of a meeting of work and then I started to see a flurry of e...

Your body is a temple - well not quite but close enough

Yesterday I had the really good fortune of attending a seminar held by renown mystic and medical intuitive, Caroline Myss. I only read her best selling book, the Anatomy of the Spirit, a few months ago and thanks to synchronicity, managed to sign up to a rare seminar she was holding in Sydney. As jet lagged as she was, Caroline exhibited the most wicked sense of humour I've seen and also had a really great way of explaining spiritual concepts. There's so much to tell you (and so many quotes to share), but let me start with the one analogy that really resonated with me: your body is a building. Essentially, if we think about the building being an apartment block, you'll see that it has a number of levels. The building as a whole doesn't "move" per se, it's the inside of the building that does. Are you with me so far? So now think about the building having 10 levels. Anyone living in the building would have a different view of the world depending on wh...

Learning new things

This week has been a bit of a crazy week in terms of making big decisions and also learning more things. I am constantly challenged every single day to be a better person, and believe you me, some days are a lot harder than others! Today I caught myself creating a stupid assumption that a work mate was pissed off at me because I wasn't easily going to sign a document for him and got someone else in on the deal. Stupid huh but I'm sure you guys have been there and done that. So what else has happened? More avenues of healing have opened up to me. On Tuesday, I was massaging someone and when I was working on his glutes, I started to feel a circular and pulsing sensation underneath my fingers. Then as I was working on around his scapula area, he commented that he was feeling heat from my hands but the heat wasn't uncomfortable. What did I feel? I didn't feel any heat whatsoever and all I felt was a pulsing sensation - not circular like around the glutes. I was due to hav...

Turning point

Today is a turning point I believe in my career. This morning I was chatting to a friend and another workmate in the kitchen and telling them about the snag I've hit in relation to the study of the Diploma of Remedial Massage. My workmate then said "You have to think about yourself first, not about this company. Do what's right for you". He then suggested that I consider the possibility of studying full time in order to fast track my transition. My instant reaction was "but I have a mortgage, etc" and he basically said "well you can work on the side - consider whether it's feasible to work for this company but in a contracting role and narrow the scope of the work you currently do". As soon as he said that, I started to seriously think about it, and if you know me, I start thinking about everything I will need to do in order to make that possibility a reality. So first thing was to email my former boss (who coincidentally came over last night...

Falling into the trap of worrying

With all of my previous posts of positivity and thinking in the right way, I wanted to give you an example that shows that it's not as easy to comply with all of my advice as you think it is! I'm the perfect example of a person who knows logically that the advice is sound but I let my own fears/worries get in the way. However, I also wanted to share that if you ever hit a "low" point, you need to know that the angels and ascended masters/spirit guides work even harder to get you to listen to their positive messages! On Saturday, at my usual massage clinic, I realised that if I wanted to study the Diploma of Remedial Massage, it was likely that I would have to do my remedial clinic on a weekday, which meant taking a few hours off work each week. Initially my reaction was "that's ok - this is doable" and I left it at that. But then on Sunday, I had a feeling that I had to look a bit more into how the recent changes to the diploma would impact me, so Sund...

Ascended Masters and Etheric Retreats

Image
I have stated in my previous posts that I was going to write something about Ascended Masters. Obviously I got distracted with other topics but today feels like the right time for me to tell you about them, and also give an insight in their etheric retreats. So let's start at the beginning. What is an Ascended Master? An Ascended Master is essentially a being who has essentially reached a particular stage of spiritual enlightenment and are focused on helping humankind reach their spiritual potential. A lot of the times an Ascended Master is actually someone who used to be on Earth (or an embodiment of many "beings"), but they have progressed to such a stage that they no longer need a body because they have learned all they can to be "one with God" or the "Divine" or "Christ" light. There are HEAPS of Ascended Masters and they transcend across all "religions". Examples are Jesus, Mary, El Morya (who used to embody Abraham, King A...

Own your power!

Some of you might know that Caroline Myss, a medical intuitive, is hosting a number of workshops in Australia starting next week. I'm very fortunate to be attending the Sydney on next Saturday with another workmate of mine, and I'm really excited about it! I was first introduced to Caroline Myss by my crystal healer. She suggested that I read her book, Anatomy of the Spirit, as this would give me a good idea of how the chakras work, what each chakra embodies, and ties in very nicely how the main religions can all relate to the concept of the chakras. One of the main things that Caroline emphasizes in her book is personal power. She says that lots of the time the lower chakras will become out of balance if you let someone else take your own power. Throughout your entire life, there is only one constant - yourself. Other people come and go, and fortunately there are a good few who stay around a lot longer than others. However, the fact of the matter is, you are with yours...

When in doubt, focus on service

Every morning I take a couple of minutes to do angel card readings for myself. Today, one of the cards really stood out, and that was the card "Integrity" which basically means align your actions with your values. I thought it was very fitting giving my experience yesterday evening. As you know, I believe that there is no such thing as a coincidence, so when out of the blue a friend of mine msged me and invited me along to this event about an existing travel offering, I thought "What the heck" and popped along. At the end of the day, it ended up being some "pyramid scheme" involving hugely discounted travel packages. When the guy stood up and was explaining it, he had the typical passion and tenacity that you would generally expect from a motivational speaker and it was clear he was trying to make the whole thing out to be a very exciting prospect. Then they got other speakers to come up and chat and talk about how awesome the whole thing was, etc etc ...

Sometimes you just have to chillax y'all

Every day our lives are full of "stuff". You know what I mean, when someone asks how you are, you tend to say "I've been so busy"! Yea you know who you are - we're all guilty of it. The best thing you can do for yourself is to take time out every day. I can start hearing the excuses "I don't have time to take time out", blah blah blah. Enough with the excuses - you make the time for it, and then it becomes second nature and part of your usual routine. So how do you "take time out" and what are the benefits of doing so? A lot. Taking time out is easy - go for a walk to clear your mind, meditate, do some yoga, do something that takes your mind off everything else and allows you to just focus on the most important but most neglected person, you. As a wannabe massage therapist, it is so clear to me why it is important for us to chillax and focus on ourselves. We see many clients who complain of the same ailments - back pain, pelvis ...
