Sound healing

There's so many different modalities of healing out there and today I wanted to focus on sound healing. What is this you ask? Essentially, another way of healing your body but using the frequency and the waves of sound.

Now as a healing modality this might not necessarily resonate with a lot of you and that's fine. There's heaps of other modalities that will suit you better than sound healing. To be honest, I wasn't too sure of how this would go but I did have a taste of it before when my crystal healer played some crystal bowls and I could feel the sound vibrating through my body so I thought I'd give it a try. Also, leading up to the healing session yesterday, I had been reading about the effects of certain mantras like repeating Aum or Om and that each chakra had a particular sound that was associated with it.

Over the past couple of weeks I had been working on trying to feel my kundalini energy. My boyfriend had his rising years ago so we were both working on it but obviously careful as I certainly didn't want to have one of those crazy risings! ANYWAY, whilst reading this book on kundalini energy, I started to chant Aum to myself and then all of a sudden I could feel this strong wave of energy slowly surging up my spine - the more I chanted it to myself the more I could feel the energy rise up. It was then that I realised that I should try this sound healing session to see if anything else came up.

The sound healing session I went to was in Coogee and it essentially was a combination of sounds of the hang drum (look it up - looks like a UFO but the sounds that come out are amazing), tibetan singing bowls,  a bongo drum, guided meditation and finishing off with singing a particular mantra. Well the result was that I felt incredibly light at the end and felt like I had gained another 2cm in height! Essentially whilst the sounds were going on, I was feeling a vibration around some of my chakras (mainly my heart chakra), my sacrum started to unwind itself and I could feel my spine re-aligning itself, my left hand was moving by itself (we were all lying down). I could also feel things being released from my own body (it's the same sensation I feel when I'm working with clients and they release blockages) - not too sure what they were but I probably don't need to know either.

I think it was actually a really beneficial session for me as I was incredibly stressed out leading up to session itself (I blame work). As the session began the stress basically faded away quite quickly and the energy in the room was great. I'd recommend you to try a sound healing session and reap the benefits of it! $25 for a one hour healing session was quite cheap :) Hit me up if you want to know the details.
