Going with the Universal Flow
I hope that the first few weeks of January are treating you well and for those who are sensitive to Universal energies, hope you strap in for the ride over the next couple of days which culminate with the super blue moon and eclipse on Jan 31 (apparently my star sign, Taurus, is one of the 3 signs which will be most affected by this so this is going to be interesting)!
Today I wanted to write about going with the flow of the Universe. Time and time again you'll hear this sort of concept in spiritual circles - let go and let God, or just go with the flow. Most of the times the reaction is "Easier said than done!!!" or "how the hell do I do that?".
January for me so far has been a lot about this lesson. Those who know me personally know that I say I'm a dog person. I love dogs - I get along with them, I find them irresistible and I'm always saying hello to a dog that passes me (if I don't go up physically I will definitely send them good vibes in passing) and if you ask me to choose between a dog or a cat, I would have put my hand up to say "gimme a dog!". However, for some reason, the beginning of January marked the beginning of this urge to get a cat. Yea - WTF! I can't really explain WHY I had the urge to get a cat, but I thought "ok if this is supposed to be than Universe you better deliver me the cat and give me signs pointing the way".
Following this urge, I started to come up with a list of criteria I required from my cat taking into account my current living circumstances and the type of person I was. Given the passing of my brother's puppy at the end of December, I was really adamant that if I was going to go down the path of getting a cat, I was going to know what I was in for and be ready to make the commitment. After figuring out my criteria, I researched cat breeds and to be honest, only one particular cat breed really caught my attention - a Russian Blue. That cat breed almost ticked every single box that I needed for a cat.
So the next thing I did was tap into my higher self and my guides. Was I to get a cat? Yes. Russian Blue? Yes. Pure breed or rescue? Pure breed (I actually didn't mind a rescue cat but the research was inconclusive whether the rescue would have the character traits I wanted). Adult cat or kitten? Kitten. Cost? <$1000 but more than $500 (ouch). When was I going to get it? A bit over a month away (mind you I did this in the first week of Jan).
Ok - so I had a bit of an idea of what was going to happen. I then searched on the internet and didn't find any cats matching the criteria above so I thought "ok whatever. Universe you provide me with that cat when the time is right" and left it at that.
The week after, I somehow came up with the name of the future cat, and it was a girl's name. For some reason it was like "yea I'm gonna get a female". Still, I didn't think much of it so I left it.
Yesterday I got the urge to go back and search - and I found 2 listings. One was giving away a russian blue kitten for free but with no papers. The other was selling kittens for $600 with micro chip, papers, vaccinations, etc. I messaged both sellers to see what came up and the latter responded instantly. 3 were available and they were all female. We passed a lot of messages to and fro - she sent me lots of pictures, gave me a lot of information as I confessed I would be a first time cat owner and answered all of the questions I had. I had a good vibe about this one and when I tapped into my guides, they said "yep go for it". The final kicker was that they were born on 1/11 - which is a pretty important number in numerology. Not to mention in the week leading up to this I had been seeing 1111 everywhere!
Anyway, I get to meet the 3 kittens tomorrow and then hopefully by next Friday I will have a new family member if everything falls into place. The breeder wasn't pushy either about me making a decision on whether I wanted the cat or not - she's happy for me to meet and then tell her later.. personally it gives me comfort that she's looking out to make sure that her kittens go to a good home too. And if I do get the kitten next Friday - it'll be a bit over a month from when I first asked my guides about her. Go figure :P
Also, obviously the $600 is quite a bit.. especially as I've just been paying bills and have a couple of big educational courses coming up too. Not to mention my tax advisor came back and told me what I owe to the tax office (OUCH OUCH OUCH). So whilst I am slightly fretting about the expense, the Universe also decided to give me some extra money with mobile massages for 2 clients this week, not to mention I also have 2 clients at home this week which means the money flows 100% to me and not someone else. I take it as another sign of the Universe saying "We got your back - you'll be fine".
It just goes to show that if you just follow your hunches and go down the "right" path, then things will just open up and flow very naturally. Dang I'd like to do that more in my life! Maybe this is the start :)
